I'm Back....Pus-A-Roo, Eagles, Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Godaddy tells me it's been 100 days since the last post here...vacation is over for the webmaster.
Lakelizardmusic has been laying low and enjoying the fruits of the season...dealing with spammers ($%@%$@**#) and life. I appreciate the continued interest in this blog and the lakelizard website and will try to get it up and running again. If you're one of the many who have asked, 'where's your blog, where's your ramblin' thoughts, where's all the bs that you spin', then this one's for you. I'm now working on a macbook pro, due to the death of a long lived dell pc, and just fyi, I'm liking the Apple experience.
Ok, what we got? Good trip to the gulf with family and friends...gulf update...too damn crowded in the summer for me...I miss the islands, and can't wait to get back. On the other hand, there's a pending Lakelizard trip to Vegas in the fall for song research. Promises to be good...report to follow.
Just finished a new song, "Down to the River Again" --- it's a good one and will post lyrics soon, and maybe if I get time in Lakelizard Studios, can get a copy of the tune itself uploaded.
I live a pretty good life here in Lakelizardland, but I've got some really good friends going through some tough times...my thoughts are with them constantly. I've also lost some good friends, and we'll try to get through that too.
So what's up? Pus-A-Roo coming up 8/20...with preparty and pre pre party included...you know the drill...if you don't, ask...looking for JimmyD to roll into town...who knows who else will be there....aiyeeeeee!
Because I've got so much spare time these days, between working on lap steel, weissenborn, fiddle, open tunings, and several other things I can't do, I've decided to take up stand up paddle boarding. I figure I can take it along on the boat, and use it as a 'spare.' Well, let me tell you, stand up paddle boarding after 1 day in the neighbors pool, and 2 days in my cove on the lake, has whipped my ....
I think it will be fun, and I've kinda got the hang of it, but it's tough on this old body...they say it strengthens the body core...well, obviously, the body core ain't where I thought it was....anyway, I'm looking for good times with that.
I'm sittin' on the deck and loving this wind that's blowing through Lizardville....seems like it was a late start to summer here, but now I'm in the swing of it and hate to see fall coming....boating, jetskiing...and of course now, paddle boarding.
Always makin' music of sorts here and hereabouts...been some good jams down in Watertown at the House of Kirk...kinda inspired these good ol' boys to go 'lectric some times. DiscoDan gotta new Fender bass, and I gots a new Strat...having fun with that....crank it up and keeps the critters away.
We got lots of rabbits around here these days...I mean rabbits everywhere...probably attracted to reHarv's garden...but anyways, I stepped out on my kitchen deck today and saw an eagle (that's right an eagle) swooping down, probably looking for one of those juicy rascals...he pulled up when he saw me, and soared away. Could've been a War Eagle, just to come say 'hey', but we do have a few eagles in this area. Majestic, is the description you hear, and that's the right word for them.
