Lakelizardmusic - catching up! (and RIP chocolate bunny)

People keep asking, "What's goin' on with Lakelizardmusic?  Did you survive the floods?  Have you been fired from your new realwork?  Can you play that fiddle?"

Well, I have been neglecting this blog a little bit, but calm down!   Geeeeezzzz...  I got things going on all the time and I gots to prioritize the organizations of the situations.

To start with, forget all that other stuff...I got a new phone and it's killer cool...it's the HTC Incredible and so far I'm loving it.  You can talk on it, which is good for a phone, and do so many other useful (and useless) things, I won't even start to describe them.  It's good for me as a writer, for my realwork, and lots of day to day stuff.  After a couple of weeks, I'm getting used to it and highly recommend it if you need more than just a phone.

I am experiencing a lot of frustration with the fiddle...it makes a lot of noise that even gets on my nerves.  We'll file this under 'a work in progress.'  Is it wrong to sell your soul to the devil to play a decent 'Twinkle Twinkle' on the fiddle?

My grandaddy's fiddle on my favorite pickin' chair which also belonged to my grandparents.  Inspiration everywhere!

New Realwork is great.  The boss works weekends and holidays too...wow...never seen that before.  All I have to do to feel positive that I've made the right move is to talk to the folks at Old Realwork.  God Bless'em...someone deliver them from that hellhole.  Sorry guys!

Lakelizardmusic is running wide open...I'm still digging out old songs and putting together bits and pieces of lyrics I find here and there.  Trying to keep the Weissenborn lapslide thing working along with all the other guitars.  I still got to get that 12 string restrung and play around with that.  Just not enough time...and I've GOT to get some recording done soon.  Maybe I need to setup a schedule with some goals...maybe I could use my new phone for that....hmmmm.

What are you listening to uncleH?  Everything, all the time!  In my cd changer right now:

RL Burnside   First Recordings
Janiva Magness   The Devil is an Angel
Monster Magnet   Power Trip
Sleigh Bells    Treats
Jamey Johnson  The Dollar
Daniel Rothwell    Live at the PickInn
Seasick Steve     Man From Another Time

Quite a variety and not a bad one in the bunch....support your musicians and songwriters.

This just in:  whiskeyDan and klosetKaren having a big party Memorial Day weekend:  prepreparty Thursday, preparty Friday, party Saturday.  If you're reading this, you're invited.  He's stirring up a batch of lakejuice and who know what else...come as you are, get like you want to be.

There's been a chocolate bunny taunting me from the top shelf of my refrigerator since Easter.  Stopped for Friday night happy hour at Chilis and then at Weavers Watering Hole and got home looking for a midnight snack.
RIP chocolate bunny.

Magnolia you sweet thing....

Miss you lots H!!! I'm a little concerned because it sounds like in the process of learning the fiddle the banjo is getting neglected!!!
I'm glad your new Realwork is great!! You deserve it after all those years at old Realwork!! I have to say I'm enjoying my reprieve from that place too currently!! Even though I have a new at home Realwork right now!
