St Kitts monkey Facts: learned after extensive research (drinking beer with the locals)

These are Green Vervet monkeys that run free and live in the wild on the caribbean island of St Kitts. Tourists love 'em, locals have a mostly different view:
1. De' monkeys is smart.
2. Dey will destroy gardens, flowers, fruit, and crops.
3. Dey take a bite of de mango, then trow it down and get another one.
4. Dat's what dey do for a livin'.
5. Dogs in the garden don't help...de monkey make a friend wit de dog and will be scratchin' his head...next ting you know, the dog is diggin taters for the monkey.
6. There are trained monkey dogs...you have to take them home at night so de monkey won't make dem a friend.
7. These dogs can catch the monkeys, cause monkeys can't run downhill.
8. Their tails is for balance, not for swingin'.
9. De' juvenile monkeys will pull a cats tail for fun.
10. Monkeys eat the farmers crops, the farmers eat the monkeys...fair is fair in the country.
