A lakelizard goes to Opp
Well it's been awhile since I've written here. Of course I had a lovely weekend at realwork...wound up my work week last Thursday, got up Friday and headed south to Opp to see Bossie and hang out with her awhile. On the ride down, I realized that my rental car had black velour interior, on the doors and the seats...I think my ride was pimped. I just cranked up the radio, cranked down the windows, and rolled south on I 65. I hit Athens, Alabama at 10:15, so I stopped at the Walmart to pick up a cable to connect my Ipod to the car stereo and kill time while I waited for Lawlers BBQ to open at 10:30. At 10:35, with 2 bbq samiches and a large sweet tea, I was back on the road south listening to Charlie Robison sing My Hometown. Makin' history....
(I made an entry on facebook that I was "headed south in a rental with black velour eating Lawlers bbq." Some people seemed to think that 'black velour' was my traveling companion. While this isn't true, it would be a hell of a stage name for the right person...."please welcome to the stage, Black Velour!)"

Spent some time workin' with Bossie's computer setup and found the above photo in her files. I believe she's now ready to surf the 'net and the world.
Ok, I gotta head back to lakelizardland tomorrow, so I better get a little bit of rest. If I know me, I'll stop at Lawlers for some bbq, and get a little bit to take home. If you see me on the interstate, honk and wave...I'll be the one in the black Mazda, pimpin' on home...makin' history...writing songs.

Really glad you came down & stayed a good spell with us. I always enjoy your craziness....you liven up the ol' home place! And Bossie too! You're probably on the road again by now....so be safe & hurry back when ya can. (and wipe that bbq sauce from ya face!)
