Robben Ford, Brad Paisley, mennoniteMalcolm, and Vince Gill F#@K OFF
If you've been here before, then you know how much I've been looking forward to Robben Ford coming back to Nashville. I was not disappointed in the least....killer show. Nothing, I mean nothing, beats a 3 piece band that is tight. And these guys cranked out some rockin', jazzy, blues as only Robben Ford can do. And the Belcourt is such a nice venue to see an act like this. A nice little bonus was that Brad Paisley, and then Vince Gill came out and joined Robben on a couple of songs apiece, and then both came out on a rockin' encore of Crossroads. These guys are known for their mostly country work, but they showed that they've got some rockin' chops of their own. And they both had that little boy look to be standing toe to toe with Robben Ford on stage in their town jammin' down.
Like I said, nice bonus!

(Robben Ford, drummer, Brad Paisley, bassist, Vince Gill (sorry for the pic quality, but cameras weren't allowed)
MennoniteMalcolm sat next to Vince for the first half of the show...no telling what those two could have talked about.. Hopefully, he was plugging lakelizardmusic, since he was sporting his lakelizardmusic.com tshirt. Of course, we remembered Vince from last year at the Robben Ford/Larry Carlton show.

(mennoniteMalcolm keeping a low profile before the Robben Ford show...we gots fans everywhere)
As Vince made his way on stage and was plugging in his Telecaster, somebody in the audience made a few comments like, "get him off the stage" and "he can't play" and a few more poorly chosen remarks. After a few awkward moments, Vince looked toward the voice and said, " F#&K OFF!" That's right....Vince Gill....I don't make this stuff up. Not that I blame him...and it certainly didn't distract from his pickin'...or the rest of the show.
As hickoryWoman said, "Robben Ford is a guitar players guitar player." I couldn't have said it better myself.
