RacecarFest 2009--It's not about racing, OK?
I guess I need to clear up a little confusion here...the RaceCarFest 2009 has nothing to do with racing or Nascar. The party is being held by RaceCar...I promised not to reveal his realname on the website (Jim Petty). So, if you were anticipating a thrilling afternoon of watching cars go round and round and round...(or a boring afternoon of watching cars go round and round and round) you're in luck...it ain't happening. It's just a good ol' throw down, swimmin', drinkin', pickin', music listenin', good food eatin', lie tellin', story swappin' situation. Bring a little something to throw in the pile of food and/or drinks (byob) and you're in. I also promised RaceCar I wouldn't reveal the location of this party (Logue Road, Mt Juliet) on the website due to the massive following of lakelizardmusic.com...I hope this clears up some of the misunderstandings...geez people, get it together out there! In other news...riding down Hwy 70 in Mt Juliet the other day and NancyO screams, "Mt Juliet Beer Company!"...sure enough, there is a new business opened and we stopped in to check it out. Nice folks with a large variety of beers, and soon to have a humidor full of cigars...it'll warrant a 2nd visit to see how well they follow through with the stuff they told me. Check 'em out and support your local beer guys. (I purchased a 6 of Hazed and Infused...pretty good stuff...and a single of Yazoo Hop Project...also good stuff.) Lakelizardmusic is a proud supporter of BEER!
Also, JohnPersimmons called me the other day from Lawler's BBQ in Athens, Alabama to report that the Persimmons family give a big A+, thumbs up to Lawlers. That's the second call this week I've had from folks stopping by there that heard about Lawlers on Lakelizardmusic.com. We had a report of another bbq place in the Decatur/Athens area that was supposedly better than Lawlers, but me and the lizardkid and NancyO did a little investigative eating a while back and we still feel that Lawlers is the best around, and we heartily endorse them and their killer Q.
