It was one week ago today....
...you can imagine that it takes quite a bit of effort to run a conglomerate such as the lakelizard empire. I mean, other than the main interests such as lakelizardmusic and lakelizardstudio, there is also the marine division including lakelizardlanding, Copacetic and Li'l blue. And that's just the tip of the lakelizard. Anyway, I was off from realwork last Wednesday, out from under the shadow of the quarter-tower and the jesus-fish, and needed to do some maintainence around lakelizard headquarters. I made a call to Racecar, knowing that since he's recently been fired and retired, he might be able to work me into his schedule and lend a helping hand. Sure enough, he was granted a home pardon and headed on out.
The first business of the day was to pull Copacetic out of the water and trailer her back to homeground so that she might get some new oil, lubrication, and a general shining up, mainly of her 'toons. I headed out on Copacetic and Racecar headed out pulling the boat trailer with BlackBonnie, my ol' reliable F150. We met up upriver a couple of miles at Sandy Chapel Boat Ramp...as soon as Racecar saw me round the bend, he backed the trailer in, I navigated Copacetic with precision, and within seconds, we were up and out of the water, surveying the perfect job of trailering and congratulating each other on a job well done. We did notice that one trailer tire was low, but what the hell, we had 4 total, and we were only going 2 miles, and were gonna drive slow. Executive decision was made with general concensus to go for it.
Twenty five yards from the boat ramp, the tire came off the wheel. Something clicked in Racecar and he jumped into action. I think he had a flashback from a Talladega race or something. We were right in front of a driveway and Racecar snatched the mailbox off the post and chocked the tires. Pulled the jack out from underneath the hood of the truck and with 3 pumps, had the trailer in the air. Pulled the tire back on the wheel, somehow tight enough to seal it, and proceded to pump the tire up by a little trick known as external combustible osmosis. Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself! Then, he drops the trailer, replaces the jack, slams the mailbox back into place, looks at me and says, "Good thing we're under caution". The whole pitstop took 2.5 minutes and we were back home in 5 after leaving the boat dock. Would I lie to you?

See...here's proof. Copacetic, safe and sound on home ground.
